What do you think? Perhaps as a nn instead of given name??

nickname definitely :)

We nicknamed our Damson Jam, Jamson, so maybe it could be a a nn for James?

deliakate · 18/08/2011 14:38

I was thinking for a girl.... Do you have a Damson then?

(i'm referring to actual jam, not a person Blush )
(it was funny)
(we did another jam from green gages and called it "Jam of Green Gages" that was also funny)

deliakate · 18/08/2011 14:38

Haha. Naming jam. I like!

Blush

it's very pretty, actually, for a girl, but I would still go with a nickname rather than a given name- maybe a middle name?

exoticfruits · 18/08/2011 14:41

Not even as a nickname.

Kestryn · 18/08/2011 14:43

I'd go for nn rather than real name I think - it is pretty but mates would almost definitely shorten it to 'Dam'

Did you lose your earlier thread?

BuntyPenfold · 18/08/2011 15:43

No, she will be called Damn and Dammit all the bloody time. I should know; it's my maiden name.

pranma · 18/08/2011 15:48

Damaris is nice..[any Abbey Girls fans out there?]

BuntyPenfold · 18/08/2011 15:50

I am, but I don't think she will be called Dammyrose, I think she will be called Damn.

I had a brief flirtation with the idea of naming dd after a fruit, a bit like in the Joanne Harris novel Five Quarters of the Orange where the characters are called Cassis, Reine-Claude and Framboise (it is set in France).

I decided it was a bit silly, apart from as a pet name (not even a nick name, just a private pet name!!) although I do think Plum is a nice nn for Victoria...

PercyFilth · 18/08/2011 16:11

Reine-Claudes are named after a person anyway, so full circle! :)
