I used to not like it but the DS's have a couple of friends called this and it has really grown on me over the years.

So yes I like it.

It's hideously twee. Don't like.

Very annoying, badly drawn mouse.

It's not really my sort of name. For me it lacks something - can't put my finger on it. The only way I can describe it is that (to me) it feels very insubstantial for some reason.

Also, Maisie and all it's variants have shot massively up the charts between 2009 and 2010 so may be quite a faddy name.

no my mum always wished she could call me poppy but she couldnt because of my surname and i always herd of it threw my childhood so totally gone of it x

Very nice for a child, not so keen on it for an adult (which they generally become). Mary or Margaret can use Maisie as a nickname - could be a good solution

yes but dont u think names grow with a child as i think margret is a bit out dated now :S x

I'm not keen on Maisie either, but thankfully we all have different tastes - you probably wouldn't like my suggestions either. Stick with the name you love - life would be boring if we all chose the same names .

Maisie (or Maisy?) Gibbons - suburban prostitute cum housewife from Desperate Housewives. And that was season 1 IIRC, i.e. years ago. Have since stopped watching this show. I still remember.

Maisie - not to my taste at all, but likewise, my DCs' names wouldn't be to your taste and it'd be boring if we were all the same. :)

Polite request popcornchicken - ditch the text speak and use English instead - you can use as many characters as you want in your posts; there's no limitation, and it makes them much easier to understand and follow. I spent some time trying to work out what Mia was doing in New York City.

I know a Maisie and she is the most beautiful wee girl. It really suits her. If you love it, you should use it.

Agree it's great on a child, but you may want to give her a more adult alternative.

There are lots of Maisie's of retirement age, I don't think it's no go for an adult. I like it
