Eleanor and ...

We already have DD Eleanor (which we have persisted in pronouncing EleaNOR despite nobody else doing so... but that's a whole other thread).

Now expecting DC2 and would love some inspiration for names. I'll stuck to girls for now even though we have no idea of sex yet.

I love Charlotte but DH not keen. Also love Olivia. Like Catherine but fear that will be over-used atm and also like Elizabeth but not keen on the alliteration.

So can any of you clever name gurus come up with anything similar?

Thanks!

Like Martha and Madeleine a lot but close friends have used them recently.

Already have Amelia and Isobel in extended family.

Not so keen on "shorter" names like Isla.

Of the boys' names. I like Frederick the best, in fact love it and it has a family connection too. Will suggest it to DH tonight!

I love Eleanor with Olivia, but it is top of the chart currently.

I can only think of Alexandra or Anabel that haven't been said yet.

Mysecretumbrella · 11/08/2011 06:31

Oh, lots to consider there, thanks! Nit sure any really grab me though... I do like Harriet but not really any of the others. Picky I know! I do like Olivia and need to decide whether it being top of popularity list is an issue for me.

Thanks so much everyone!

Another strong queenly name would be good - several have already been mentioned, but there's also Matilda, Margaret and Caroline.

What about Juliet?

mich54321 · 11/08/2011 13:53

I seem to like the same names as you - Eleanor was on my list, with Olivia, Sophia, Isobel, Elizabeth, Lydia. If you like Catherine - you could try Kathryn as an alternative spelling with nn Kate/Katie as a child. I do like Eleanor and Olivia as sibling names though.

We have an Imogen Hope and the alternative for her was Eleanor Grace - decision made during elective section in conversation with doctor assisting female surgeon!
