Look here to get an idea of just how old fashioned Françoise is in France!

I like it but I'm not sure how to pronouce it. Fronswahz? Franswah?

As a non French speaker I prefer Francis.

Just so you know Francoise is a girl's name so Francis spelt with an "i" would not be the English equivalent.
The correct pronunciation is Franswahz
Franswah is how you pronounce "Francois" which is the male equivalent.

Yes it's terribly frumpy in France. Like Brenda or something.

only if you have French connections. It is quite a nationalist name really as it basically means 'French'
