I want a girls name that if nice for a baby but will be something classy, beautiful and elegant when she is older.
I'm really not into 'faddy' kind of names and don't want a really popular one.

Names I like so far include

Harriet
Eliza
Beatrice
Georgia
Elizabeth
Charlotte

Names I would consider but don't like as much as the ones I just listed

Catherine
Louise

Any more suggestions you think I'd like?????

What about Laura, it is timeless, classy and elegant (and my dd1s name so I am a tad biased:o)

Greenwing · 28/07/2011 20:00

When I read your title the first names that jumped into my head were Elizabeth and Katherine/Catherine.
I might add Anna, Kate and Maria/Marianne/Mary.

All gorgeous IMO.

Greenwing · 28/07/2011 20:01

What about Erin?

sunshinejanuary · 29/07/2011 21:20

Charlotte and Amelia are very popular round this neck of the woods.

I think you might get a lot out of looking at a list of female names from Shakespeare! Although, possibily some are quite sad heroines and the namesake might not be appropriate?

We loved Harriet, but weirdly felt that we somehow couldn't see ourselves with a child with that name!

Reesie · 31/07/2011 22:33

Florence - definately my fav dd1's middle name so I am biased (wish I had given it to her as a first name!)

Unlurked · 31/07/2011 22:38

Lydia
Miriam
Francesca
