At the moment my favourite girls' names in no particular order are:

Caitlin: Ok Originally Irish pronounced Cat leen or as good as I can not being Irish. so I would only choose if you have Irish connections.

Rosanna: reminds me of the song, ideal if you are wanting a Rose name as less popular than Rosie.

Rosalie: Again another song, on a par with Rosanna but I prefer Rosanna as Rosalie can often be seen along the promanade at Blackpool reading "tarrot cards" for a tenner.

Louisa : Very nice and classic.

Tierney: umm never heard of this I would say no on the basis that it is very different from your other name choices so perhaps not really you?

Saoirse: ok if you have Irish connections.

Kristen: Not keen, very cutesy, might get mistaken for Kirsty.

Amy: Boring and too popular.

Chloe; ok very pretty and very now.

Faye: Ok quite plain but better than Amy.

First 3 and last 3, Rosanna is really pretty, lots of possibilities for nn and unusual with out being difficult to pronounce or spell. I'd be very tempted. I love Amy too, but given the middle of your list I think you might feel you'd played safe.

Love Rosanna and Caitlin. Love Luisa (no O).
Not wild about any of the others. Amy always sounds very wet to me.

Offspring- yes I like Eloise, thanks :) I don't mind Sasha but I don't think it's something I'd choose personally.

I do have Irish connections :)

I only like Louisa

Rosalie and Louisa would be my favourites of these.

The only one I really don't like is Tierney - it sounds masculine IMO.

Caitlin- love it
Rosanna - Anything with the nn Rosie is great with me
Rosalie - ditto
Louisa - Went to school (back in the dark ages) with lots of Louises so don't like
Tierney - meh
Saoirse- wow, wow, love it
Kristen- Bit 80s?
Amy- Not really my taste
Chloe - love it. Also Clodagh has Chloe as a nn and is more in keeping with some of the more Celtic choices you've got here
Faye - Dunaway is all I can think of, sorry

My sis is a Rosanna, Rosey as her nickname, never met another one. The best on your list IMO :)

Caitlin - Don't find it attractive to look at for some reason and hard sound
Rosanna - Pretty
Rosalie - OK
Louisa - Classic, good name apart from the word 'Loo' in it
Tierney - Sounds like a surname and hard to spell. Only know it as surname for actress Gene Tierney
Saoirse - Pretty sound (so long as you are Irish).
Kristen - Like it. Character in 'The Colbys'? (Showing my age!)
Amy - Pretty. A bit girly? Nice meaning
Chloe - Pretty, very popular
Faye - Unusual, OK

Just IMHO!

Thanks everyone :)
It might be helpful as well if you could do the name elimination game- where you post the list and then everyone deletes the name they like least until only one is left? :)

FWIW, I love Caitlin, Rosanna, Rosalie, Kristen and Amy.

I strongly dislike Tierney (sounds made-up), Chloe (lovely, but loads of 'em),
Faye (sounds a bit fey) and Saoirse (she'll be spelling it out for everyone for years).

Louisa is a bit meh. Not bothered either way.

Each person is supposed to remove one! Saoise , Amy and Faye now gone. At least that is how I read it.

Saoirse, Amy, Faye and Rosalie removed. I've removed Rosalie because it's too cutesy for me. Louisa and Kristen are my favourites.

Who'll remove one next?

My name is Louisa.

It's a great name apart from people mishearing it and calling you Louise (nothing against the name Louise, but it's not my name) and you get called Lou. Which is a bit rubbish, really.

Other than that, from your list I like Saoirse (pronounce Sorsha) and Rosalie.
