Victoria and Albert....

My name is Victoria, other half is dead set on calling our baby (due in 6 weeks) Albert. Now, I like Albert and especially Bertie, but will we be laughed at forever more for being Victoria and Albert?

You may possibly get the occasional comment, from parents but it's hardly funny is it. You'd be more likely to get comments if the siblings were V&A, rather than mother and son. School friends won't even know your given name.
You're overthinking it.

I have a Bertie (Albert) myself, 6.5 months, and it is so lovely and suits him so well I would say go for it! Siblings would be a bit dodgy I think but not mother and son. Do it!

It is getting quite popular now though!

No I wouldn't let that put you off, it's a lovely name BTW.

MelinaM · 21/07/2011 20:24

No, lovely name, go for itSmile

Love Albert. I'd go for it.

Could you use Albert as middle name?

pootlebug · 22/07/2011 10:37

If Victoria and Albert were siblings I wouldn't do it. But mother and son - no reason why not IMO.

Thanks everyone. That's reassuring.
