Initials V.D - is that terribly bad still?

V.D is the old fashioned way of saying S.T.D isnt it?
Is it still used these days?
Is it unspeakably cruel to give a child these initials?

Val Doonican did ok.

I don't think anyone notices initials.

my initials are NOB! I have posted this in so many threads I should just have it on copy & paste. In 40 years it has been mentioned a handful of times and always in a stupid jokey way, it's never been a problem.

Lets face it NOB is about as bad as it gets Grin

Don't do it, or at least make sure she had a middle initial so she has the choice to use 3 initials. I do this, for similar reasons.

I think it's fine. I'm of the age where it definitely has negative connotations but how often do you use the initials, especially if she has a middle name.

I'm sure the decision has already been made, four years ago.
