Erica Smile

BikeRunSki · 12/07/2011 13:24

Neither

brodanbell · 12/07/2011 13:25

neither, but if I had to choose I'd go for Erica. She sounds like shed grow up to be fun. Clara sounds a bit wet. To me.

Crumpets · 12/07/2011 13:26

Clara

Awomancalledhorse · 12/07/2011 13:27

I like both...Clara just pips it for me!

moodymary · 12/07/2011 13:28

Erica

erica

aStarInStrangeways · 12/07/2011 13:41

Clara - love it. Erica is really Not My Bag.

Hedwig3 · 12/07/2011 13:53

Clara is lovely.

IxnayOnTheIbblerQuay · 12/07/2011 13:56

Erica

PaperBank · 12/07/2011 14:17

Clara

hulabula · 12/07/2011 14:27

Erica is more classic and not as 'fashionable' as Clara is at the moment.

Ephiny · 12/07/2011 14:31

Clara is much nicer, didn't know it had become fashionable though. Erica just sounds too much like Eric, which is ugly IMO

IsItMeOr · 12/07/2011 15:15

Isn't Clara the drippy one in Heidi?

Neither is my considered opinion though.

Aphria · 12/07/2011 15:31

Thanks for the feedback. I feel the same about Erica sounding more masculine (DH really likes it though).
I'm Scottish living in Ireland and on an Irish site Clara won hands down, but it's also a place in Ireland so it would be more popular over here. Clara is 94 on last year's stats here and Erica doesn't feature. Neither feature in the top 100 in England & Wales so neither if them are fashionable.
Think I might be winning DH round. After having 2 boys I thought a girl would be much easier!

Clara. (not keen on girls' names which are feminised boys' names)

But I'd go for Cara instead.

oohlaalaa · 12/07/2011 18:36

Erica

oohlaalaa · 12/07/2011 18:37

Also like Cara and Lara, but not Clara

Ihavewelliesbuttheyrenotgreen · 12/07/2011 18:37

Erica- Its unusual yet still a proper name iyswim. Its quite cool and I reckon it will become quite popular in a few years time so you will be ahead of the curve. I don't think that it is too musculine, no more so than Leah, Georgia or Philipa which are all popular.

Ivortheengine8 · 12/07/2011 18:38

Clara. Not a fan of Erica. :)

Bandwithering · 12/07/2011 18:46

Easy.

Clara by a sea mile.

Bandwithering · 12/07/2011 18:48

Aphria, I wouldn't worry about Clara Laragh. You could call your next child Anna Livia. What lovely names! Grin

When I hear the name Clara I don't think of it as being a place too.

Aphria · 12/07/2011 19:57

Ha ha, it wasn't Clara Lara I was thinking of, it's actually a town in Offaly too!

Erica definitely. Don't like Eric but like Erica Grin
