Maddex or Maddox?

Hello, I need to register my baby's name today. We decided on Maddex (Maddex Arran) but am a little apprehensive. Firstly should I spell it Maddex or Maddox and secondly what do you think of the name please?

I'm not keen on either, but Maddex is definitely the worst option.

Go with Maddox, if you must (it's the spelling Angelina used for her son).

Definately Maddox. Maddex remoinds me of tippex for some reason. Maddox is lovely :)

I have a boy in my class called Arran, like the isle. Nice and Scottish.

Arran is a name in its own right DragonAlley.

Maddex is a bit of an odd spelling though. People will pronounce it 'mad ex' which I am guessing is not what you want. I'd go for Maddox.

Some countries, like Australia, pronounce Aaron as Arran.

Maddex sounds like a cleaning product.

Maddex makes me think of FedExor as others have said Mad- Ex. I would go with Maddox

yeah, it's Arran after the Isle of Arran in Scotland which is special to our family.

I quite like either. Maybe decide if a nn would be Max or Dex?

Oh dear, my mum said that and she said that he would probably get Maddy?? So is it best for us nick name him then so people follow suit?

We have a similar first name for DS2, and mostly it's shortened to Mads.

I agree. Also names ending in ex sound like some kind of toiletry or cleaning product. I'm not keen on Maddox, but I don't hate it.

Maddox Arran is a nice combo, but def spell with the 'o'.

Never heard of Maddex, the name is spelt normally spelt Maddox I think so you'll have to get used to people spelling/pronouncing it wrong all the time!

I like Arran, especially as it has ties to your family.

The more I say it, the more I prefer the names the other way round. The X of Maddox runs into the A of Arran. Mad Oxarran.

Arran is lovely and a much nicer first name.

Maddox is nicer than Maddex.

Nicknames could be Mads, Max or Dax but why shorten a 2 syllable name?
