boys final 5 - votes please!

Expecting a boy next week and DH and I have wittled it down to the following:

Oliver
Henry
William (prob nn Will)
Charles (nn Charlie)
Austin

I know they are all v popular but we really can't agree on anything else we both like. ( I like Thomas and Edward also but DH not too keen.)

Of the above, Henry is the only one with a family connection but is it on the popularity up? ( Not a major prob as they are all pretty much top 10 names bar Austin)

I really like all those names, but probably would go for Austin.

We had a similar thing going on, we are expecting a boy in October, and have now settled for the name Noah, but was really difficult as we could not agree with anything, and also didn't want anything that was too popular.

William (could use nn Billy or Bill to make it more unusual)

Henry or Oliver. Austin is awful.

I agree that Oliver, William, Harrry and Charlie are very common. I also don't like the nickname teasing potential of Willy for William.

Austin is lovely and has a lovely meaning (magnificent, I think) and it isn't that overused as the others.

Unfortunately can't have nn Harry for Henry as it rhymes with surname - would this be a problem do peeps think?

Am surprised at popularity of Austin as it reminds me a bit of the "powers" link but DH will be pleased!

Oliver is my favourite of those.
Least favourite is Austin.

Austin; Powers or the old cars (Austin Princess) was the first thing that came to mind.
Oliver; know too many (of all ages) so it's too popular (we live in London).
Henry; Good.
William; Good (is on our list), think it's a great name because of the number of NN avalible (same with girls name Elizabeth & Katherine etc).
Charles; Not sure on this, really like Charles but not Charlie.

My nephew is Austin so I associate the name with him, and he's lovely.

Henry/Harry - ok
William - don't like Will or Willy
Charles/Charlie - ok but also quite popular.

Oliver and Charlie are probably the most popular where I am. I love Henry and William but would personally be more likely to go for Austin because its less commonplace.

I would go for Henry... Oliver and Charlie mega popular... Especially for babies... My Charlie is 6 and only 2 in his whole school but there are a ridiculous amount of baby charlies, on holiday recently there were 2 baby Charlie's, one toddler Charlie and our Charlie. Same with Oliver, they're everywhere.

I only know one Henry and he's 4.

To the poster who's going for Noah, this is also really popular... It's like the new Jack where we are (bucks)

I like William and Henry best, then Oliver and Charles/Charlie, then Austin.

All lovely - apart from Austin which I really don't like (sorry). If I had to pick one would probably plump for William.

William then Austin then Charles.

Don't like Oliver or Henry.
