What do we think of Quincy for a boy?? Is it too posh?

I don't think it's posh.

I'd still associate it with the medical examiner, though, which together with Quincy Jones makes it quite an American name to me.

Is is 'common' sounding or interesting?

My friend said it's a surname... do you think it's usable as a FN?

One of my best friends is called Quincy and he is absolutely lovely, so on that basis, I love it! I am quite clearly biased though.

Quincy is an old, fairly prestigious surname in the USA; John Quincy Adams (an early president) is the biggest example I can think of. Dorothy Q Thomas, a human rights activist, is another one, less famous but more current.

Not sure it works as a first name outside that context - would imagine most people think of the TV show.

I like it. Quin is a cute nickname.

Quincey Morris is a total hero in the story of Dracula - he's the one who kills him. Great name and Quin is a good nickname.

It's awful.Fine as a middle name perhaps,but certainly not as a first name.Quinn is much nicer.

Makes me think of Quincy ME and Quincy Jones. Also the fruit Quince.

I don't like it, makes me think of Quincy ME. But I know it was a former American president, so probably doesn't sound so random over there. it's not as bad as Addison or Jackson.

I like it. For what's it's worth I know a woman named Quincy and I think it's great for either sex.
