Clover Pearl

Do we think this is okay even though it's a butter?

Does anyone have any other middle name suggestions. Found that quite challenging! Last name is a single syllable object (so not Iona or anything!)

I love Clover but am less fond of Pearl. I think Clover needs something a bit longer and frillier to balance it:

Clover Hermione
Clover Leonora
Clover Melissa
Clover Georgiana
Clover Isabella
Or even Clover Naomi - it's not frilly but it has syllables and looks and sounds pretty! :)

LetThereBeRock · 26/06/2011 17:51

Clover Pearl sounds like a fabric softener, and Pearl is an awful name imho. I'd think a longer, more elegant name would work better with Clover, particuarly if the surname is a one syllable name.

LaurieFairyCake · 26/06/2011 17:52

I think Clover sounds like a name normally used for a cow - I've known lots named Clover.

However it works for Daisy so be a trend-setter Smile

Not sure it goes with Pearl though

Sounds like the winner of the 4.45 at Chepstow...

LetThereBeRock · 26/06/2011 17:53

Something like Alexandria,Georgia,Isabella,Elizabeth etc.

LetThereBeRock · 26/06/2011 17:54

Jessica perhaps.

TangerineQueen · 26/06/2011 18:11

Hmm... It does kind of sound like a fabric softener doesn't it? Shame... Also wonder why we didn't see that! Blush

I love Coralie but Clover Coralie might be too alliterative. DH not keen.

We have discussed Leonie (prefer this to Leonora)

Clover Rebecca/Rebekah
Clover Elisabeth

Clover then maybe two short names? Know someone with May Ellen which I think is lovely but can't think of anything similar which we like!

Really like Marie and Isabella - thank you!

Thank you for so many suggestions so quickly!

Clover Leonie sounds really sweet. I really like Rebecca too.

SloganLogan · 26/06/2011 22:52

Clover Megan
Clover Anneliese
Clover Juliet
Clover Harriet
Clover Miranda
Clover Marianne

I know a grown up Clover and I've never thought of butter when I've spoken to her.

I might now, of course Grin.

Bandwitch · 26/06/2011 22:58

Clover Pearl sounds like a product I agree, a bath milk !

Clover Eugenie popped into my head.

AlmaMartyr · 26/06/2011 23:24

I LOVE the name Clover although wouldn't use Pearl as a middle name. I like Clover Elizabeth or with two short names. If DC2 had been a girl I would have had Clover something Anne.

TangerineQueen · 27/06/2011 00:03

Thanks everyone! Love Anneliese, had kind of forgotten about it as "A" names for first names were out from the start.

Juliet I also really like.

Think Clover Eugenie works but isn't for us. Irrationally put off by the princess even though I've nothing against her.

Like Anne for one of the short names, thank you!

This has been so useful!

I love Clover. Taught a gorgeous one once.

I think your ideas of Clover Rebecca and Clover Elisabeth are lovely. Like Pearl but not with Clover.

razzlebathbone · 27/06/2011 12:48

Clover is a fantastic name. I would have loved to have used it too but it was a complete no no with my surname :-(

What about:

Clover Amelie
Clover Sylvie
Clover Delphine
Clover Emmeline
Clover Arianne

StyleandBooty · 27/06/2011 12:55

Clover Constance

swash · 27/06/2011 13:57

I think Clover is really nice and quite unusual without being pretentious. I don't think Pearl goes either, but Elizabeth or Louise are nice.

kickingking · 27/06/2011 14:00

Personally, I like Clover but there is always the butter/dairy cow case.

I don't like Pearl as it reminds me of shower gels, etc. and I don't think it goes with Clover. Clover Pearl sounds a bit fabric softener - sorry.

I think Clover needs a traditional, classic name to go with it. Clover Elizabeth or Clover Annabel spring to my mind.

Rhubarbgarden · 27/06/2011 18:09

I love Clover Jane. I think Clover is such a beautiful, unusual, name that if you put a long frilly middle name with it it loses something - almost like it gets crowded out. I really wanted a Clover Jane but my surname rules it out.

StyleandBooty · 29/06/2011 16:08

And the final decision?
