Well, i first came across it when i read the inheritance cycle by c. Paolini but little arya's character in game of thrones is brilliant and sort of reminds me of myself when i was little!

It's hard to explain fully, google it. But in a nutshell Aryan is what they call the nazi ideal person, the master race and all that entails.

Depends on intended pronunciation - I read it as AH-REE-AH which doesnt sound like Aryan which is AIR-EE-AN. I like the name this way but if it is intended with AIR at the beginning then I agree with the others.
