Hi there ladies!
I myself am a very traditional woman from a high-class background with conservative views and friends. I'm currently pregnant with twins! Having 4 children already; Simon , Harry, Emily and Edward, I'm essentially looking for a less "common" name, I don't at all like these "new-earth" names such as Jago or tigger. I am however looking for something a little... different. What do you all think about these? -
Wichard,
Ceculle,
Samwell,
Job, (possible Joab),
Gawker,
Delphina II,
Eli,
Belle,
Beau,
Beaux,
Fant (French pronunciation)
Nathanwell (similar to Nathaniel)
or Theadore?
I look forward to getting to know you all better soon!
Delphiii!

excellent, so plenty of scope for Eric and Erica, Alan and Alana, David and Davina....

swanker · 22/06/2011 22:47

I'd go for Geronimo and Flangerella

CulturallySophisticated · 22/06/2011 22:47

Delphiii had a think for you - what do you think of the names Gryssentellia, Horatio or Trixabella? x

Delphiii · 22/06/2011 22:51

I love the idea of giving them similar names, but that just doesn't give them the scope to become autonomous beings and that saddens me. I do however like the name Eric, it's simple, granted, but I like it. Geronimo is a bit tacky really :( Horatio sounds good, Trixabella too :)
Haven't fallen in love yet though

Have you considered

Dartusboardus?

Hunterswellis?

Yorefierd?

headfairy · 22/06/2011 22:56

How about Jonty, Squiffy, Booboo, Bunty or Pong?

Delphiii · 22/06/2011 22:58

Well we call my husband squiffy so that one's out of the running I'm afraid.

Oh for goodness sake for sheer upper class blue blood, you will have to go for William, Harry or Catherine (but NOT Kate - far too middle class)

The names in your list are, I assume, taking the piss (a name you could add to the list)

Delphiii · 22/06/2011 23:01

Don't be so flippant, woman! Have you not read the whole thread?

OP posts:
headfairy · 22/06/2011 23:04

well just call whichever of the babies you like least squiffypoo then! Simple

Delphiii · 22/06/2011 23:15

Well the young ones don't come from squiffy's poo, do they? Maybe I should call them "squiffysemen" and "squiffysperm"?

Belle and Theadore get my vote :-)

MollyMurphy · 22/06/2011 23:25

please, PLEASE go with Gawker - I beg you! (laughs and snorts tea at her laptop).

Fontsnob · 22/06/2011 23:28

I've just laughed so much at this thread. Jolly good wheeze.

Marne · 23/06/2011 11:03

How about 'Filip' Grin

IvyAndGold · 23/06/2011 12:01

Squidward?

Fifis25StottieCakes · 23/06/2011 12:17

Gawkers fantastic. I think you should go with it. Its so unusual, in fact i love it Grin

Wichard and Fant are fabulous

Love your names op.

Fifis25StottieCakes · 23/06/2011 12:19

What about Treeadore or Histopher

elseIlltellyourfather · 23/06/2011 12:22

Goodness, I would have thought that with your 'high class' background and, presumably, education, you would know a little more about apostrophes OP. Your thread title had me terribly foxed for a moment.

Gawker is deffo my fave

LaurieFairyCake · 23/06/2011 15:12

I've only ever heard high-class in relation to hooker

Do you mean upper class perchance?

Why don't you just call your kid TWAT - possibly pronounce it the German way - that would be unusual Hmm Grin

IvyAndGold · 23/06/2011 16:02

Fant should obviously be used as a middle name. Goes beautifully with Ellie.

Ilovekittyelise · 23/06/2011 17:36

i have a 'quite dreadful' feeling that the op is for real, but retain a glimmer of hope that this is just a bit of fun....i find it painful enough listening to the put-on-poshes calling for badly behaved barnaby and awful annabel in the park without this whole new level. for the record, anyone with any actual class doesn't feel the need to make reference to it (and darling, 'monied' means a different thing altogether).

as i said to a friend the other day, i am going to patent the idea of a new form of child psychology. the parent simply has to call me and tell me the name of their child; i dont need to SEE the child, just to hear the name and i will be able to diagnose his or her problems immediately. mostly it will be a very easy job with a unanimous diagnose of mummy's a twat who never quite made it in her own right, and daddy's a tosser who's not quite good enough to make the promotion he's always wanted, and you henrietta, are the future....
