I love Mariella,and also Marielle. I knew a Marielle when I was a child,her family were dutch,and she was tall and blonde and elegant even at 12,so it has always seemed a lovely name to me!

There's a song by Kate Nash called Mariella. Its a good song and wouldn't put me off using the name. Pretty.

Maria is my favourite girl's name of all time, though. You just can't beat it.

In a parrallell universe I go on to have another daughter and call her Maria (in RL I'm done!).

Maricela is a very standard name in my background, so Mariella sounds like it's missing something, to my ears (and I like the sound of Maricela better, too, said the Spanish pronunciation way). Too many run-up-together vowel sounds in Mariella.

Do you say it "Mary-Ella" or "Ma-ree-ella"?
