If none of the above, any suggestions greatfully received.

Oscar.....but I am biased! Grin

  1. Oscar
  2. Milo
  3. Toby
(in that order) Not so keen on Archie.
munstersmum · 21/06/2011 13:58

Oscar or Toby

Milo just makes me think Tweenies & want to heave -sorry

ragged · 21/06/2011 13:58

Not keen on any of them, Archie if you must!
I take it you want names without nns, op?

MackerelOfFact · 21/06/2011 13:59

Toby is lovely and under-used.

Hedwig3 · 21/06/2011 13:59

Toby

MEBMotherof3 · 21/06/2011 16:28

Toby but then I'm biased as I have a Toby! Haven't met many others either. The ones I have met are always little monkeys though, dunno if that puts you off! Wink

mopsyflopsy · 21/06/2011 16:31

I really don't like any - they are all very 'trendy' and will probaly date more than more classic, timeless names.

In addition, this is Milo en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milo_(drink)

MmeLindor. · 21/06/2011 16:33

Oscar

Milo makes me think of Tweenies, but that might not be so important not (are they still on TV)

Archie is meh

Toby is Scots for willy, but if you live in England that doesn't really matter. I cannot get passed it though.

PrincessJenga · 21/06/2011 16:35

Toby. I love Tobias but DP doesn't (don't know why) so I'm not allowed it on our shortlist.

I also like Oscar, but apparently it's getting quite common, which would put me off.

bluebump · 21/06/2011 16:52

Toby or Oscar.

mopsyflopsy · 21/06/2011 17:39

"Toby is Scots for willy" Really Shock

vintageteacups · 21/06/2011 17:42
  1. Milo
  2. Toby
  3. Oscar
  4. Archie

I do love Archie but it's extremely popular.

I know a very sweet Milo and I his name never makes me think of the tweenies.

PatriciaHolm · 21/06/2011 17:47

Dh wouldn't let me have Milo because of the hot drink! He grew up in Hong Kong where it is very popular.

I like all the others, but they are quite popular at the moment - we have two of each in our reception year alone! (60 kids)

blossomtrees · 21/06/2011 17:48

none of them

vintageteacups · 21/06/2011 17:49

That's helpful blossom Grin

yawningbear · 21/06/2011 17:49

I have lived in scotland for years and did not know that Confused. Tobias/Toby is lovely imo. Way too many Oscar's and Archie's, I do like Milo but as others have said there is the Tweenie connotation but shouldn't really matter. How about Felix? tho' there is the cat food link. Tobias has it I reckon.

vintageteacups · 21/06/2011 18:03

We have a Barney and nobody has ever mentioned purple dinosaurs Grin - except SIL when I was pregnant.

The name is the child and the child is the name; it's so easy to match loads of famous characters etc to lovely names but you'd end up never choosing any!

Mopsyflopsy/Yawningbear
Perhaps it is a dundee expression then. We had a rhyme, "Eiech, miech, hen's keich, toby, bum, fart"

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 21/06/2011 22:04

Toby (but Tobias as full name) or Oscar. Don't like Archie at all and Milo is a Tweenie. Love Barnaby.

moondog · 21/06/2011 22:06

None.
They are hideous.
All names for silly teddy bears in smug tv programmes for MC kids.

takeonboard · 21/06/2011 22:12
  1. Milo
2.Archie >

103.Toby
104.Oscar

weimy · 21/06/2011 22:17
