Muslim names list

Ok me and hubby have decided on a girls name so just need to pick a boys name now.
We have made a bit of a list so would like some opinions please!
My hubby is muslim (from Gambia) Im not but posted before saying we want a muslim name thats easy to pronounce or western sounding.
So here it goes:

Adam (i like but hes not so keen)
Omar (both think its ok)
Malik (both like...me more than him)
Jamal (both like...me more than him)
Tariq (both think its ok)
Hadim (Both like...but again me more than him)
Tijan (think its his fav of what i said yes to)

Ones I liked but he said no:
Zain
Sami/Samir
Zaki/Zakir
Harris

Ones he wanted and i said no were:
Mohammed
Abdullah

(no offence to anyone meant here!)

I teach lots of muslim and mixed-heritage kids.
My faves are Omar, Jamal and Tariq.
I agree with him saying no to Harris and you to abdullah

Sami would be my favourite then Malik.

I like Adam or Sami. Hadim sounds nice, but not that Western sounding.

Abdullah is the worst on the list imo.

It means "eunuch" or "infertile". It is not a name, it is a description. "Hadim Ali Pasha" in the Ottoman Empire was called that because his name was Ali and he was a eunuch!

Actually, not even "infertile", it means "eunuch".

My ds has a friend called Alireza, which I think is a really nice name.

Or Esmaiel.

Adam - Nice, but too common in the Western world
Omar - It's ok, nothing special
Malik Don't like, sorry!
Jamal - Like this
Tariq - Very nice
Hadim - Not keen
Tijan - Don't like

Harris - Nooo, sounds like one of these Western surnames that people use for first names, like McKenzie and Taylor and they're usually classed as chav names round here. Sorry to offend anyone.

Abdullah - I know someone called this which I don't like his full name, Abdullah, but he shortens it to Abdi which is sooo cute, even on a 20-something aged male.

Adam - My favourite, but very Western and quite common.
Omar - Nice, but obvious.
Malik - Like.
Jamal Same as Omar.
Tariq - Like.
Hadim - Sounds pretty, but the 'eunoch' meaning is bad these days.
Tijan - Okay.

Malik, Tariq or Hadim.
Omar and Jamal are nice, but they're quite common (I think).

I like your list. Particularly Adam, Omar and Tariq.

The only baby Adam I have heard of in recent years is the son of a Jordanian Muslim couple. Think it is quite unusual at the moment, for babies.
