A close friend had decided to call her soon to be DD Ruth, she is now also considering Mary. Can we have middle name suggestions for this too please. The obvious one Elizabeth is out as that is her DD's name.
Thanks.

Ellen and Alice do work really well but they sound a bit predictable.

Mary Rene
Mary Elise

What is the surname initial because if it is M you don't want anything like Ursula as it spells out MUM!

TCOB · 22/06/2011 20:11

Just wanted to echo Italian - Mary is a tough one as you have to think about the acronym i.e. I really liked Mary Anne but surname begins with D Grin. Anyone who has enjoyed a cheeky smoke at Univerity may also snigger at Mary Jane...

I have no particular suggestions, but I think you should use something long to prevent it seeming like one name, ie. Mary Anne, Mary Catherine, Mary Jane are all accepted first names, and I would probably read them as such, and not as first name, middle name.

squeak2392 · 25/06/2011 17:03

P.S. I much prefer Ruth.

Mary Ruth?

meditrina · 25/06/2011 17:13

Mary Helena (Len)
Mary Constance (Con)
Mary Margaret (Margot)

Especially if your surname is Maynard.

kimberlina · 25/06/2011 17:17

but only if you're having triplets, eh? Meditrina :o

PiaFedora · 25/06/2011 17:20

Mary means bitter and Jane means 'gift from god' If she uses Mary Jane it's a bitter gift from god Grin

meditrina · 25/06/2011 17:21

kimberlina: couldn't resist Grin

Tuggy · 26/06/2011 05:05

I don't get the Maynard reference? Put me out of my misery please is someone famous called Mary Maynard?

bagelmonkey · 26/06/2011 05:07

Mary Joanna

meditrina · 26/06/2011 07:20

Tuggy: from The Chalet School books by Elinor M Brent Dyer. The married name of the main character, Joey, is Maynard; and those are the names of her triplet daughters.

Bonsoir · 26/06/2011 07:29

Mary is such a dull name! It was my paternal grandmother's name and two of my first cousins have managed to name their DDs Mary - one as a first name and one as a second name. Dullsville and they both have regrets now!

Tuggy · 26/06/2011 07:31

aahhhh I get it :) Thanks!

susssiq · 26/06/2011 07:38
