I like Annabelle too, but it's become quite popular so would like to stick with Anna or Annie.

What do you think?

What about Rory for a boys name?

Annie is a diminutive/short/affectionate version. If you go for Anna, you get to use both :)

posterofagirl · 18/06/2011 20:15

How about Ane? The Scandinavian version of Annie pronounced with a long n and an ascending e

LillyTheMinx · 18/06/2011 20:16

I like Annie and also love Rory.

ThePathanKhansWoman · 18/06/2011 20:20

Anna. Love Rory.

Ivortheengine8 · 18/06/2011 20:21

All lovely, see which one feels right when baby is here. Smile

Hassled · 18/06/2011 20:21

Anna. Lovely name.

olddeuteronomy · 18/06/2011 20:24

Definitely Anna - beautiful name and like someone said you can call her Annie as a pet name.

manicinsomniac · 18/06/2011 20:26

Much prefer Anna to Annie but think Anna is much higher up the lists than Annabelle?

Ivortheengine8 · 18/06/2011 20:32

Is it Manic? I'm off to check that again! I think we would end up calling her Annie/Anna though anyway.

Does anyone think it is a bit too common?
I want something traditional but a bit unsual and Anna is about the only one my DH will agree to.

Love Anna and Rory. Annie could always be a nn for Anna!

SloganLogan · 18/06/2011 22:11

Annabel, with Annie for short.

Rory is quite nice.

notevenamousie · 18/06/2011 22:12

Annie
(my niece!)

wobbleBob · 19/06/2011 20:59

Anna. Annie sounds whiny

Mowlem · 20/06/2011 01:09

Anna. Nickname Annie, if desired. Anna I think is more classic / beautiful for the birth certificate

Darnsarfupnorf · 20/06/2011 01:23

not mad keen on rory (racing car, lion, gilmore girls etc)

Ivortheengine8 · 20/06/2011 06:52

anna. was my girls name for dc3. we had a boy!

friend is nn annie...her name is anne marie. i also know another annie as a name on its own.

love annie, but would prefer a "proper" name with annie as a nn.

razzlebathbone · 20/06/2011 18:10

Annie

MelinaM · 20/06/2011 20:22

Anna is a lovely elegant name, Annie is too cutsie. You can always use Annie as a n when your DD is smallSmile

Bandwitch · 20/06/2011 20:51

I would pick Anna or Annabel)le because Annie is fashionable now but is less classic than Anna. So even though I really like Annie it'd be my least favourite of the three to put on the bc.

Thanks all, I shall take all your comments into my consideration! :)
