Lovely.

The Camomile Lawn - I like Calypso better. As a name.

sophiesmummie · 14/06/2011 13:52

Thank you so very much for your feedback so far... I really do appreciate it!! I will elaborate a little more as to why I am asking, but wanted to wait for some others to share their thoughts on the name before doing so! :)

Thanks again!

Love it. That name will always be the good daughter in King Lear to me.

I don't like it. It's old fashioned but in a clunky harsh way rather than a pretty way imo

suspiria · 14/06/2011 16:57

Lovely

Inhotwater · 14/06/2011 17:49

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 14/06/2011 17:57

I loved Cordelia but dh vetoed it because of Buffy/Angel associations!! Not so much of an issue now I wouldn't have thought.

mimmymouse · 14/06/2011 19:16

Love it. Hope our third will be one, should we be so lucky.Smile

OK... So you ladies have been wonderfully helpful!!! Thank you! Here's the deal... We are currently expecting our next baby, and have chosen two name combos for each gender. Cordelia is the first name of our second girl combo. My lovely MIL, whom I truly adore is visiting, and when we told her the names, she liked every name from every combo EXCEPT Cordelia! She hates it, and is begging us not to afflict a child with that name!! She says it is old-lady sounding, and ugly, and just a hideous name. I think it is just lovely, and envision a beautiful, sweet-natured, lively little girl, but Mom just sees a stodgy old woman with her hair in a bun. I am sharing the results of my thread with... The good the bad and the ugly! :)

I think it sounds lovely but it will always have the sad, King Lear, connotation for me Sad. A woman of honesty and virtue who is disowned by her father and treated abominably by Edmund, and is finally executed SadSadSad

SloganLogan · 15/06/2011 22:34

Not to my taste (too pampered-sounding and frilly) but it's certainly popular on MN.
