Deesus · 13/06/2011 18:56

I think it's really pretty Smile

Cattleprod · 13/06/2011 18:57

Would she always be known as Sarah Jane? Or is Jane a middle name?

It is quite 70s, tbh.

GrimmaTheNome · 13/06/2011 18:59

Its absolutely 70s - I had a classmate called (daringly nonconformist, missing the 'h' Grin) Sara Jane. The names really do go well together.

I suppose nowadays people would think it a tribute to Dr Who's old companion...

GrimmaTheNome · 13/06/2011 19:00

Did that sound negative? It wasn't meant to - I like it!

PurpleStrawberry · 13/06/2011 20:18

I think it's lovely.

Sarah and Jane are both traditional, classic names and such names don't date.

Sarah is one of only two girl names that has been in the Top 100 in England & Wales ever since the lists stared being compiled in 1880. (The other name is Elizabeth). That is some staying power.

pilates · 13/06/2011 20:29

Yes very 70's but not in a horrible way.

misdee · 13/06/2011 20:32

70's/early 80's. love it!

but then it is my name Grin

KittyBigglesworth · 14/06/2011 16:39

The combination is quite 70s.

fedupofnamechanging · 14/06/2011 19:13

I wouldn't put the two together. I am a 1970's born Sarah Louise and in a class with quite a few other Sarah's, all of whom had either Louise or Jane as a middle name.

I really like the name Sarah and think that you don't get many children called Sarah today, so it is a good choice, but adding Jane as a middle name is boring.

exoticfruits · 14/06/2011 19:34

I love Sarah but I wouldn't put Jane with it.

My dd is Sarah Elizabeth and loads of people have commented what a lovely name Sarah is and how it's kind of forgotten these days.

squeak2392 · 15/06/2011 20:45

I like it.

GibberingGinger · 15/06/2011 22:25

I love Sarah as a name. I'm not sure about Sarah-Jane. It's very 70's. If you are not planning on using it as a hyphenated name then Jane as a middle name is fine.

clemetteattlee · 15/06/2011 22:26

Is he a Dr Who fan...?

I know an adult Sarahjane. No hyphens. Just one name.

Chloejean · 06/09/2018 01:45

Sarah Jane is lovely, I’m a big fan of double names so if you think it’s boting you could make her name Sarah-Jane _ and a fun middle name! Good luck Smile

moredoll · 06/09/2018 03:34

I like it.

ladycarlotta · 06/09/2018 07:58

I really like it, if you're going to call her by both rather than just Sarah which I find quite dull. I know a Sarah-Jane in her late 20s and she's pretty cool.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/09/2018 08:13

Zombie thread ... if the OP used this name, Sarah Jane will be about 7 by now. Grin
(This popped up on my active convos, I posted under an old NN)

PetraRabbit · 06/09/2018 10:42

I like it! Lots of positive experiences with nice Sarah-Janes. I think it's a really cute name for a little girl. It is technically 70s but actually has an almost 1950s retro feel to it.

PetraRabbit · 06/09/2018 10:42

Oh no....zombie thread! Arghh

midsomermurderess · 06/09/2018 13:45

Perfectly fine, crashingly dull, in, as others have said, a brown lino, hessian wall, 1970s way.
