Very nice, and I've never met one.

MeantToStopAtTwo · 12/06/2011 17:04

Really don't like it. Sorry. It just hasn't got an attractive sound to it.

updiffed · 12/06/2011 17:05

Inspired by newsreader Romilly Weeks... LOL

Gorgeous. It's unusual but not ridiculous. And it's a place in the champagne region of France.

But my lovely four month old makes me biased.

Camerondiazepam · 12/06/2011 19:34

Would have def been on my list but doesn't go with our surname, love it

DegreesCelcius · 12/06/2011 19:52

Absolutely love it. Has always been one of my favourites.

SloganLogan · 12/06/2011 20:01

Not keen, sorry.

dustyhousewithdustypeople · 12/06/2011 20:02

My friend lives in Romiley and I've always thought it would be a nice name.

itsohsoquiet · 12/06/2011 22:30

How about Romany?

MelinaM · 12/06/2011 22:32

I love itSmile

deste · 12/06/2011 23:25

Lovely classy name.

Pixieonthemoor · 13/06/2011 11:38

LOVE it! It was on my short list but my dh wasnt so keen. I think its gorgeous!

MsChanandlerBong · 14/06/2011 01:30

I love this name and am currently working on dh to have this for our dd due in September. I worked with a lovely girl called Romilly years ago who would now be in her early 30s.

I'm hoping for Romilly Rose (middle name selected years ago after a relative).

topazmcgonagall · 14/06/2011 02:43

I think I like it

5DollarShake · 14/06/2011 02:59

I actually really like it. Would be unlikely to use it myself, but do still like it. :)

randomimposter · 14/06/2011 11:19

Really like it and Romy is also lovely as a NN.

nervatious · 14/06/2011 13:21

I know a boy called this, it really suits him

IslaValargeone · 14/06/2011 13:22

Love it.

sophiesmummie · 14/06/2011 13:53

I like it although I've never met one. So seems a nice and underused name.

rachel1970 · 14/06/2011 14:19

I like it and Romy is a cute nickname imo.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 14/06/2011 17:38

I have one - she'll be six next week. I love it.

People do mishear it though - probably more because it is unusual than because it actually sounds like 'Romany/Bromley/Wobbly'

Ours doesn't have a nickname, really. Inspired by my friend's sister (in her 30s) who herself was named after/inspired by the son (because, pre-war it was pretty much a boy's name) of Welsh painter Augustus John.

Have you seen this website?

Strangely, I know of at least 5 (not counting my own) Hmm - so not sure if that means it's due a surge (even a small one) in popularity.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 14/06/2011 17:40

and then I stumbled across these...
