Help with shortlist please?

8 weeks to go and in order of preference (be brutal please and also suggest names along similar lines if you could?) My mother accuses me of being contrived as I am so desperate not to be mainstream - she could have a point....

Struggling with girls to be honest. Already have a Linus and Eddie...

My personal favourites from your lists are: Gabriel and Iris.
Although, having said that, perhaps Iris and Linus sound too similar, so perhaps my vote should go to Ramona!

Boys:
You blew all the others names away when you posted Huckleberry. It's Fabulous!

Missy is just silly.

I like Barty, not so sure on the rest.

Love Django, Gabriel and Jago. Barty sounds like a girl to me. Kit was on my long list (but thought should put Christopher on BC which puts me off it). Not keen on Roman or Nelson. Like Huckleberry but can't believe that won't cause him problems at school.

Not so keen on your girls names but I do like Annis/Annys which is a variant of Agnes and which I think used to be commonly used rather than Anne in England in about the 15th century!

I love all your boys names. Django is fabulous. Girls - Dolly is great - but better to have the long version Dorothy or Dolores (very glam), I think. Same with Melissa, Millicent or Maisie or Missy. What about Agatha or Anya? Or Dorota, Romi, Irina. I agree that Iris and Linus are too similar in sound.

I like your boys names although I wouldn't know how to pronounce Django. I love Iris but wouldn't use it with Linus.

Gabriel and Iris win for me. Kit and Bartie are fab as nns but I wouldn't go with just the shortened names, personally.

Sorry - meant to say we would use full names on bc. Ie bartholomew, christopher (which I don't like) and dorothy. Django is pronounced with a silent d.

Your names are very unusual, but I don't think any of them are unusable (apart from Missy!!)

Kit - Love Christopher, but unfortunately not at all keen on any of the nns.
Roman - Nice.
Nelson - Interesting.
Django - Don't like at all. Looks African, and I'm not sure if it's a sound like 'and' or 'arm'.
Gabriel - Lovely.
Jago - Nice.
Huckleberry - A few months ago I'd have said 'NO!', but my friend also likes this and it's kind of grown on me.

Kit- ok, sounds like a nn, if not christopher how about Crispin?
Roman -dont like. Ronan is better, or Rohan

Django - love this but would hesitate to give to a child in case they couldn't carry it off. But how marvellous if they were that sort of person.

I Love your names - loads of them are or have been on my lists over the years (and I wanted to call both ds's Django but dh would not let me!)
I have a 10 year old Iris, and loved Linus, but did not use it, because it sounded to close to Iris. So, as wonderful as Iris is, with a Linus I think it is a no.
Ramona is fab, and I am trying to get dh to agree to this and Rowena (along with others) for this dc.
Huckleberry is rather fabulous - my favourite (after Django)
Jago is ok - but lots around here, same with Gabriel.
Not keen on the other boys names.

Dolly is fab, but as a nn for Dorothy or Dorothea
Agnes is nice, but not if you are looking for something unusual - I know no other Iris, Ramona, Dolly's , but 4 Agnes'.
