Mumcentreplus · 09/06/2011 00:11

They are all dodgy imo..maybe rosa at best...but the rest are old lady names...imo

JanMorrow · 09/06/2011 12:37

Dora - explorer/ bit boring
Hester - Quite like it
Iris - Gorgeous
Rosa - Pretty but boring!
Rhona - don't like
Mabel - Lovely

My picks would be Iris or Mabel, probably Iris.

ceeceeanne · 09/06/2011 16:52

Love Iris (and Ida and Iola)
Like Mabel
Hester sounds boyish

razzlebathbone · 10/06/2011 20:15

Has she been named yet?

MissHonkover · 11/06/2011 21:58

Iris and Hester are both lovely. Don't get Iris - the penis Capiche!

TidyDancer · 12/06/2011 13:46

Not loving Hester really. Don't want to rain on your parade unnecessarily, but it just seems totally unfeminine .

Iris and Rosa are pretty, Rhona is okay.

UrsulaBuffay · 12/06/2011 16:05

I love Mabel.

Don't like Hester.

Rosa is lovely.

Rhea?

arfanarf · 12/06/2011 16:43

Hester, with nn Hettie.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 12/06/2011 17:02

Hester is lovely, just name the child fgs! You're going round in circles.

sharbie · 12/06/2011 17:04

love mabel its so cute

MEBMotherof3 · 12/06/2011 20:44

Iris or Rosa. Marginally prefer Rosa I think but Iris is definitely more unusual. Depends on your surname

skewiff · 12/06/2011 21:48

Yes - I have been going round in circles. We've got another week until registering her, so still time to change our minds ...

BUT we're 99% sure its going to be Hester as a first name and Dora as second. I know that sounds a bit much maybe, but my Great Aunty Dora is the best woman in the world and I want my daughter to have her name.

Thanks again to everyone for all your opinions and help/advice.

Hester Dora doesn't run very well together, but who cares. The occasions that you give her full name out loud will be few and far between. I'm sure the surname will negate it too.

I LOVE Hester. Great choice.

BuntyPenfold · 12/06/2011 22:40

Rosa :)

birdofthenorth · 12/06/2011 22:50

Mabel! Fabulous!

But I like your others too.

Northernlurker · 12/06/2011 23:03

I like Isadora which somebody suggested further down. Hester is a nice name though.

A1980 · 12/06/2011 23:15

Dora - the explorer
Hester - old granny name
Iris - meh
Rosa - lovely name
Rhona - old granny
Mabel -ancient old granny name.

Rosa's the only one I like. It's the prettiest and most feminine.

nickstermum · 13/06/2011 21:08

Iris is lovely.

Dillydollydaydream · 15/06/2011 15:55

Rosa or Iris :)

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 15/06/2011 20:54

Rosa is my favourite.
