Name for Twins Needed

My best friend is due this week, she is expecting a set of boy & girl twins and is absolutely desperate for name ideas. She's asked me to post this on mumsnet to help find some new suggestions.

At the moment she is quite a fan of Sonny for the boy but says she could be persuaded to change. However its the girl she is really stuck on, she already has a dd Blake and hates girly/popular/long/very traditional names for example Isabel, Esme, Lilly, Ava, Savannah, Catherine are all big No's.

Names she likes but says are just not right are:

Mason
Reese
Dylan
Parker
Assisi
Blythe
Anais
Greer

Boys names she has shown interest in are:

Grey
Roman
Lennon
Kit (OH point blank refuses this one unfortunately)
Emile (Also banned by OH)

Please help this is making her very stressed.

Quick update as the twins haven't actually been born but at the moment the names are most probably going to be

Sonny Grey (Wilkes)
Some combination of Dallas/Parker/Margot (Wilkes)

Thoughts?

Sonny Grey is good.
Margot is perfect. Not keen on Dallas or Parker tho. Margot Harper??

KLou111 · 12/06/2011 19:46

Lennon for boy, Morgan for girl?

SloganLogan · 12/06/2011 20:03

Sonny Grey reminds me of Tanni-Grey Thompson the paralympic athlete. She's a good influence of course, but obviously is female and you're looking for a boy's name.

Of Dallas/Parker/Margot I like Margot the least.

So the twins have been named! Congrats to my friend Cate was a long labour. Thanks for all the input it really helped. The names are:

(As expected) Sonny Grey Wilkes

Parker Peony Wilkes

I know that alliterations are frowned upon on mn but I think its sweet and what was explained to me is she wanted to give them both options. She feels Sonny is quite feminine and Parker quite masculine so if they prefer it the the other way they can use their middle names and be Grey and Peony. I realise its a change from the original brief of not girl but apparently she had an 'epiphany' and completely changed her tune, it was between Poppy, Posey and Peony, think she made the right choice.

Thoughts?

Beautiful, and unique :) Congrats to your friend :)

tammytoby · 14/06/2011 14:13

Congratulations on your friend's twins birth!!

The main thing is that SHE and her DH love their childrens's names - and it is lovely that we all have different tastes and give our children different names Smile.
