Our dd2 is due soon and dh and I cannot agree...I like Iola or Persephone but he's set on Roya (I strongly dislike and I have an uncle Roy!!), plus it kind of rhymes with Lyra (he thinks this is cute, I'm not keen)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Iola is sweet. Dont like Persephone myself

How about

Rana - pronounced Ray- na its Finnish and she was the god of spring.
Io
Callisto
Hera

Sorry bit obsessed with mythical names at the moment

Ava123 · 04/06/2011 17:55

Same! I love them...could it be spelt Raina?

Not to be rude, but Rana wouldn't be pronounced like that in Finnish, it would be more like rah-nah. If you like the sound of Ray-na but want a Finnish spelling then maybe Reina.

Love Iola btw!

Hermione?

PatriciatheStripper · 04/06/2011 22:16

What about another constellation name, such as Andromeda or Carina?

Serafina

Marisa

Ruta

Xaphania

Plently of names in His Dark Materials to go with Lyra Grin

greenzebra · 05/06/2011 09:47

SheffieldSuomi cheers I will remember that for when Im next pregnant. My DH and I got married in Finland and I would love to use a finnish name.

Ava123 I ve been going on a site called Mythica which has all the gods on it, lots of greek gods and Norse ones. Also all the stories that go with them.
I really want to use Callisto for our next baby but not sure the DH will go for it.

SheffieldSuomi · 05/06/2011 16:35

Greenzebra There are so many beautiful Finnish names for both girls and boys, I will definitely be using one for when I have children.

redflagsahoy · 05/06/2011 18:09
