trying to think of names that might go on a shortlist

at the moment after lurking on baby names for a while i quite like felicity and bella /belle which do you like best and why .

also eira but we have no welsh connections

dh likes nicola , barbara and pamela but they are not to my taste

Your DH does have unusual taste.

I think Felicity is the best name because it will be suit a girl and woman.

Bella/Belle is a bit girly and princessy.

The other ones are just awful, sorry.

tell me about it . i,m not sure whether there the names he grew up with or whether he's just trying to wind me up . the latter i think . i'm just waiting for him to suggest sharon and tracey as middle names.

what about: felicity cecily arabella keira. that sounds just perfect!

definitely not arabella or cecily loathe these way to snotty for my taste and keira with a k is yuck

trying to find someting in the same vein as pamela or barbara but yet more modern . felicity seemed to fit that bill but i'm not overly keen on attribute names .

Would Nicole be a more modern take - or forever Renault? Otherwise, how about:

Belinda (NN Belle or Bella)
Meredith
Meryl
Tamsin
Rosanne

Nicole is worse than Nicola imo.

Felicity and Bella are lovely.
Don't like Belle or Barbara, but the others are fine, if a little dated (although Pamela is a distant consideration of my own.

Like Felicity and Belle a lot.
