What do you think? And yes, before you ask, it was inspired by 'My So-Called Life' (early 90s teen series).

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
no1childminder · 01/06/2011 21:03

i like it.

5DollarShake · 02/06/2011 02:23

Hmm, not to my tastes. And only because you're asking ;) - because it has a whiff of the trailer park to my ears. Jim-Bob and Ellie-Sue, type thing.

bobbismum · 02/06/2011 02:37

Love it.....also loved my so called life and get quite bolshy with Jared Leto fanciers who haven't heard of show and think they can 'have' him Blush

mathanxiety · 02/06/2011 02:42

Yes, trailerish to my ear too. Also sounds like Rayon.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 02/06/2011 02:43

I think it's horrendous, sorry.

razzlebathbone · 02/06/2011 10:01

awful

PatriciatheStripper · 02/06/2011 11:38

I know someone called - and I have no idea how it is spelled - Raymar. I think it must be Welsh as she is.

dislike...sorry

brightcopperkettles · 02/06/2011 11:55

I don't like it at all, sorry.

crestico · 02/06/2011 11:56

I like Ray. I like Anne.

I also like orange juice.
And I like corn flakes.

Sometimes things don't go well when you mix them together though ...trust me... I tried it.

pilates · 02/06/2011 14:04

Not nice at all

hannahsaunt · 02/06/2011 14:11

Oh no - definitely not. Ds2 has a Rayanne in his class (child is a boy - I'm assuming it's a boys name. no?). No one knows how to pronounce it (he goes for rye-anne so to speak); I thought ds2 meant Ryan for a long time.

valiumbandwitch · 02/06/2011 14:13

Is that where is comes from? My Mum's friend's gd is called this and my mum's friend was just baffled and devastated!!

valiumbandwitch · 02/06/2011 14:15

The Welsh thing makes me think....

The correct welsh pronounciation of Reaghan might be Ray ann. ??? I only say this because I know sometimes Megan is spelt Meaghan but I had read that that was stupid because it would be May-An

muminthemiddle · 02/06/2011 14:28

No. Sounds like a girls whose parents are called Ray and Anne.

MeantToStopAtTwo · 02/06/2011 21:34

Thanks I really appreciate your views. I've only ever heard of one person who has used it (other than in 'My So-Called Life' of course) and they lived in the mid-west, very possibly on a trailer park.

So I guess dislike of it is fairly widespread and it should be ruled out.

No. I also loved MSCL and that is no reason to call your DD Rayanne. It sounds trashy American I'm afraid.

QueeferSutherland · 02/06/2011 23:56

Upon reading the thread title, I did think "trailer park" tbh. Sorry.

Or Rayburn.

2kidsintow · 02/07/2011 20:18

My friend named her daughter Rayhan. Lovely. I think her Dad is Arabic.

MelinaM · 02/07/2011 20:27

Ummm, no, absolutely not!

acsec · 02/07/2011 20:33

I knew it was from My So-Called Life when I saw the title of the thread. She was my fave character (after Jordan Catalano obv). I quite like it, there won't be any other Rayannes in her class and I have never come across one in my classes or in the school :)

PippiLongBottom · 02/07/2011 20:38

Awful. Sorry.

Nancy66 · 02/07/2011 20:42

Horrible - sounds like something you'd hear in an Aussie soap

ohnelly · 02/07/2011 20:58

Don't like it, at all
