I always thought it was Row-sheen

raindroprhyme · 28/05/2011 22:04

Ro sheen

CaptainBarnacles · 28/05/2011 22:05

Ro-sheen
In Ireland there would be a fada (accent) on the second i. That's what gives the ee sound.

Nicknames: Ro?

Cantstopshouting · 28/05/2011 22:10

Row sheen. My neice is called Roisín and my sister calls her Rowsh for short. She doesn't really have any nicknames.

reenzeen · 29/05/2011 11:15

Im in NI and it gets pronounced raw-sheen more that ro- sheen here but ro-shee is the proper pronounciation.

ManicAnnie · 29/05/2011 13:56

Row-sheen in the south of Ireland, Rosh-een in the north as a a general rule, but it varies.

Maternelle · 29/05/2011 14:10

Would have loved to call my yet-to-be-born Roisin but in France so the "R" would be too hard. Beautiful name.

valiumbandwitch · 29/05/2011 15:34

rO sheen

the ro rhymes with go.

I'd use rosie as a nn.

DitaVonCheese · 30/05/2011 08:58

Ro-sheen. But it will always be roy-sin in my head Blush

kreecherlivesupstairs · 30/05/2011 09:37
