Help me! Boys names

whackamole · 23/05/2011 21:57

I have twin boys, Luke and Jake, and we are expecting another baby in October. It would be nice to have a girl to 'round things off' as it were, but as there is only one girl in about 6 generations on OHs side I think this is probably unlikely!!

Can you help us out with some boys names? It would be nice to have another one-syllable name, but the only one I can think of is Joel and OH hates it.

I don't like really old-fashioned names, or shortened versions (Alfie, Archie etc).

The surname begins with S so although I like Thomas I feel it doesn't flow well with the 2 s together. It is also double-barreled, because we are totally poncey Grin

Can you help??? Please!!

I like Luke, Jake and Matt.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 24/05/2011 00:34

Ned, Jude, Tom, Josh, Finn, Drew, James, George, Joe, Fred.

As for shortened names, Jake is short for Jacob, isn't it? Or do you mean 'ie' names?

BearBehavingBadly · 24/05/2011 00:43

Matt or Ted

Mark (also has a k like Luke and Jake)

poppydaisy · 24/05/2011 10:05

With Luke and Jake I would add another one syllable name but with a different syllable (so no u or a) such as
Luke, Jake and Kit
Luke, Jake and Quin
Luke, Jake and Ross

Just some ideas, hope some of them help. Also have 2 ds's and expecting a probable 3rd in 3 weeks so I feel your pain....Good Luck!!

whackamole · 24/05/2011 13:42

Thanks for all your ideas.

I guess Jake is technically short for Jacob, but I see it as a name in it's own right. I don't dislike Archie or Alfie per se, it's more that I kind of think what about when Archie is 45 (and a world-renowned brain surgeon, natch Grin)

Shall show this to OH later.
