I would like to know all possible nicknames for Eloise. Which ones are the most popular?
If you are / have Eloise, do people call you/her Eloise or by nn?
Thank you

I have an Eloise and she has never had it shortened. She's just Eloise.

I suppose possible nn's are Ella, Elle....

I love the name Eloise and plan to use it for this bump (if it is in fact a girl). I like the nn Elsie for Eloise.

jordannarikki · 21/05/2011 11:43

Ellie or Lois?

mybrainsthinkingfuckyou · 21/05/2011 11:47

Ellie Lolo Lola Wheezy -am making last one up as it the nn for my grunty snifflly 6mth piglet but the aforementioned three are cute.

LifeOfKate · 21/05/2011 11:54

My sister's called Eloise and we normally use nn Ella. Now she is older though, more people call her Eloise, the Ella thing seems to be just family :)

There was one at my school - she was Ellie.

I like Lulu :)

My dd is Eloise, we called her Weezy when she was a baby. Mostly we call her Eloise.
My main pet name for her is Blossom, don't know where it came from but she likes it.
We know lots of Ellies and didn't want her to be called that.

Converse · 21/05/2011 17:37

The most obvious are Ellie/Ella.

Anything else might sound a bit "forced".

SpringHeeledJack · 21/05/2011 17:41

Lulu, Lolo

tho have to say my dcs have awful short names, so don't listen to me Grin

meditrina · 21/05/2011 17:43

I once knew a "Weasel" - based on sibling's infant pronunciation and still sticking by university age.

youngjoly · 22/05/2011 10:17

Our DD is Eloise and she's just an Eloise. When she was little we used to call her wheezy and eloishous. Occasionally she dabbles and wants to be called Ella but Never Ellie. 90% of the time though she is just Eloise.

Hope88 · 22/05/2011 12:35

Thank you all.

I have an Eloise - she's nearly always called Eloise, and doesn't;'have any shortenend forms, tho' we do call her several other things from time to time...Grin

youngjoly · 23/05/2011 19:35

Just to add, almost all the Eloises I have taught over the years, have just been known as Eloise (admittedly, I've only taught about 3/4). Only one shortened her name and that was to Ellie. Was confusing as I also taught an Elizabeth shortened to Ellie at the same time too.

Thanks
