Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My first thought was it's a misspelling of ichterus.

seeker · 19/05/2011 17:46

Don't be silly!

Apart from anything else, he was a daft ha'poth who didn't have the sense he was born with. Making wings out of wax, indeed.

And it would be abbreviated to Icky.

Penthesileia · 19/05/2011 17:46

No, sorry. It is a by- word for over-weening ambition and arrogance and personal disaster.

Not a good omen for the child, I'd say.

belgo · 19/05/2011 17:46

which I've spelt wrong it should be icterus!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 19/05/2011 17:47

Icky. Itchy anus.

Other children will adopt the first one in primary school, and the second in secondary. Maybe.

olddeuteronomy · 19/05/2011 17:53

Just silly. And ill-fated - personally v superstitious about such things! It does smack of trying a bit hard.

deliakate · 19/05/2011 18:08

non

FairyArmadillo · 19/05/2011 21:20

I love it.

usualsuspect · 19/05/2011 21:21

Just no

BatFlattery · 19/05/2011 21:22

Please don't!

emmanumber3 · 19/05/2011 21:27

Icky. Sorry Blush.

valiumbandwitch · 19/05/2011 22:22

he flew too close to the son, that's all I knwo. I have to say no Im afraid.
probably not your style because it'd be far too conservative in comparison, but what about Marcus? It sound some of the same sound in it.

seeker · 19/05/2011 22:47

You know something? It doesn't matter if your child as the same name as another child. it doesn't make yours any less of an individual, or steal part of his soul or something. Think of the great original thinkers of our time - all Stephens, Susans, Brians and Malcolms. Not a Halcyon or a Sequoia amongs them. Stephen Hawking wouldn't be a better or more original thinker if he was called Cumulus.

emmanumber3 · 20/05/2011 11:27

Excellent point seeker. My 13 year old Jack is most certainly an "individual" (he is autistic & has a fantastic imagination). Being named Wilberforce as a newborn baby would have made no difference to that Smile.

CherryDrops · 20/05/2011 11:40

The nickname would be Icky! No go.

MamaLazarou · 20/05/2011 13:37

Icarus! Why didn't I think of that? Love it.

Obamaniqua · 20/05/2011 15:03

I actually know an Icarus. He's really dull.

Scheherezadea · 20/05/2011 15:08

He'll never be a pilot, haha!
