Gilbert

What do you think? This is dh's suggestion. Actually he like Gil on its own (legit Hebrew name meaning joy), but I think I prefer Gilbert as a full name - not sure.

He also (still) like Lazarus.
I think I can't have a boy, because nothing grabs me. Dh hates my top choice, I like Desmond, but he hates that too.
We both like Mortimer, but I am not sure if I love it.

Gilbert is by far the best name out of all of them. Desmond is just appalling.

I like Gilbert - reminds me of Gilbert Blythe in the Anne of Green Gables books - I wanted to marry him when I grew up!

I love Gilbert. My dad put me off, because apparently the older generation used to use that word for a bogie. But still love Gil.

Oh my Gilbert Blythe what a babe!!! Gill... Sorry normally I'm all do what feel's right but I'm sorry Mortimer is not cool in my books, maybe look in book's for names which start in M or have a similar meaning, but really Gilburt is so AaaaaaaHhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Love Gilbert! Was my grandad's name although day-to-day he went by the name of Bill. I also quite like Billy as a nickname for a young 'un.

Quite like Gilbert, but only because saw quite a cute one at a soft play centre recently!
Desmond and Mortimer are awful (particularly if abbreviated to Mort - 'death')
I also have a bizarre liking for Lazar, rather than Lazarus but latter has horrific connotations and think former only if you are Jewish.
What about Ezra? (have seen your previous posts and think it goes well with your other children's names, though not sure Gilbert does)

I have a fat, obnoxious, cigar smoking Uncle Gilbert so cannot imagine choosing it for a beautiful newborn. Sorry : (

Gilbert is dreadful.Lazarus is beyond awful,as is Desmond. Mortimer is ok.

I think I am the only person who remembers Gilbert the green snot alien from kids TV of the 80s/early 90s... I always associate the name with that, sorry!
