Anna is lovely. timeless and beautiful

Minnieheehee · 18/05/2011 19:18

I agree - I'm an Anna, known as Annie and my friends is an Anna, short for Annabel

edoli · 18/05/2011 19:20

I am an Anna and think it travels really well across Europe and the US. It's more popular now than it was when I was a kid but still classic. What about middle names?

Lonnie · 18/05/2011 19:37

I have always found it quite plain and dull (no offence to the Anna's) it just doesnt do it for me I will say..

Lovely classic name, will never date, and I don't think there are many baby Annas out there at the moment.

wigglesrock · 18/05/2011 22:16

I had an Anna 13 weeks ago, all I've got have "ooh lovely comments" She's my third daughter and funny enough its the name I've been most sure about, although strangely it didn't come up for the other two.

DriverDan · 18/05/2011 23:31

I have a 9 month old Anna and she gets lots of compliments on her name. I know a few adult ones but no other babies or young children. I (obviously) think it's lovely!

Jellyrollgumdrop · 19/05/2011 08:42

Def think itll be Anna!!!!

Snookered if its a boy though!!! Brew

Anna is gorgeous. Have one in the family otherwise it'd be on my list.

TheTeaLady · 28/05/2011 17:07

We have an Anna-baby and when she was born, just about every single person said "what a beautiful name." I was v pleased as I'd thought of it very early in my pregnancy and it really stuck with me. Plus I don't know any other Annas.
And sorry to say, I was so sure I was having a girl, I didn't think of any boys' names.

valiumbandwitch · 28/05/2011 18:26

I really like it. It is safe, but it is also very nice. It'll never be rare but I don't think it'll ever be in the top 20 either.

But just in case you're still thinking, other names like Anna that would go with Eve are Joy, Faith, Nina, Belle, Ruth, Mary

MeantToStopAtTwo · 29/05/2011 10:31

I really like it. As others have said, timeless and classic.

You could choose something like Annabel or Anastasia if you wanted her to have a more exotic option for when she is older.

52Girls · 29/05/2011 10:37

My choice for a girl.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 29/05/2011 10:39

Anna would go very well with Eve and both are pretty names.

katz · 29/05/2011 10:43

i've got an nearly 6 year old Annalise who's Anna most of the time. Its a name that receives complements and whilst its traditional it doesn't seem as popular as other traditional names

If its boys name your look for what about Sebastian, Seb for short

katz · 29/05/2011 10:46

just looked and it was 64th in the UK in 2010 - Anna that is.

belgo · 29/05/2011 10:48

If you want another pallindrome for a boy, what about

Otto
Bob

muminthemiddle · 29/05/2011 20:53

Anna is lovely.

Sylvaniasandwich · 30/05/2011 19:18

I know a couple of siblings called Anna and Eve.

Anna is a lovely beautiful name - very popular but still so classy.

Wottywot · 30/05/2011 19:21

DH and me like Anna for a girl (we find out wednesday) Its really the only one we agree on. We already have an Elisa.
