felicity or cecily and why

Cecily is beautiful, and a lot rarer than Felicity
I do like the name Felicity but not as much as Cecily, plus the nn's Flick, Fliss, Lissie really irritate me!

Agree with Melina that the nicknames for Felicity are not good. My 2 Felicity friends are "flick" which is yuk and DS's frind Felicity is "fliss" - too cutesy for me I'm afraid!

thanks exactly how i feel but oh prefers felicity . cecily feels sweet yet grown up and i love the fact that shortening it would be not only be unnecessary but also more difficult. i do however love the meaning of felicity but when ever i hear it on an adult ef the apprentice this week think it feels a bit cutesy . fliss is ok as a nn but i loathe flick and fizz .

problem is i suggested felicity in the first place only to then come across cecily later which outshone felicity it in so many ways but oh is` completely obsessed stuck on felicity . i suspect he's a secret felicity kendal fan . it'll be kendal for a boy next if i'm not mistaken

meaning doesn't put me off as their are other possibly meanings eg sixth or hidden obscure
like cecilia` also have considered putting cecilia on bith cert and using cecily on a day to day basis
