Please help me find a name that goes with Mabel

As the title says,

We are expecting dd3. Our dd2 is called Mabel and we still love it because it is not popular where we live- I have never met another one. Unfortunately, as much as I loved dd1's name when I chose it, every other little girl seems to have her name. So we are definitely looking for a lesser-used name, preferably classic, similar to Mabel.

We are really open to suggestions!

A few that we like are Kitty, Beatrice, Primrose, Matilda- but this is by no means a short list.

Thanks!

Nope, never heard of Dora the Explorer either.

Every name under the sun probably has some embarrassing connotation if someone's determined to find one, so no point worrying about it really. :)

My grandmother's name was Bunty. Her given name was Agnes but she was always known as Bunty.

I love the name Mabel (DH not keen sadly). I too know none at all.

So may I offer you some other faves of mine, which may "go" on the basis that I like them all:

Constance
Agnes
Florence
Edith
Agatha
Harriet
Cecily

Of those names, I know 2 Connies, one Edith, one Harriet and one Cecily but none of the others. I think there are a few Florences about tho, just none have wandered my way.

Def Matilda, also like Claudia, Clara, Clarice and Constance.

NormanTheForeman · 15/05/2011 14:55

Edith. My grandmother was an Edith, and her sister was a Mabel, so in my mind they go together.
