Has anyone ever changed a name via deed poll?

I have missed the 12 month slot for changing the birth cert. I wonder if it is a big hassle / expense to change via deed poll, does anyone know anything about this?? Thanks

I changed my name by deed poll a few years ago - it was about £30 IIRC, v quick and hassle-free.

Easy peasy.

Google it. I did it with my 8 year old's surname, and it really just involved signing a bit of paper and having a party! then you just get on with using it. You have to photocopy things and faff around so that everyone knows. Good luck.
I think it cost about £30.

(getting a new passport was the most expensive bit!)
