One week to go until due date and both me and DH have agreed on a girls name (this was so easy for us and havent changed either of our minds about it for months) but we are struggling on boys names. Have 4 which we quite like but would hugely appreciate any comments - after all a name is for life and all that! Anyhow the 4 names are:

Arlo
Charlie
Jago
Wilf

Honest comments would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you!

Love, love, love WilfSmile

Arlo I don't like at all, Jago is lovey as is Charlie, I prefer Charles thoughSmile

I'd go with Wilf and Charlie

MelinaM · 09/05/2011 19:29

...lovely!

LyraBelaqua · 09/05/2011 20:46

I like Arlo and Jago, I think Wilf is cute but can't imagine him as a grown-up and I don't really like Charlie as its a bit too common where I live especially compared to the other names.
I think Arlo is my favourite :)

MercurySoccer · 09/05/2011 21:49

I like Arlo or Charlie.

Arlo - like
Charlie - like (particularly with Charles as full name)
Jago - not keen, sounds a bit "trying too hard"
Wilf - too much of the old man fad

seeksnewnamewithgsoh · 09/05/2011 21:57

Jago and Wilf sound 'trying too hard' to me.

I think Arlo is fab, but for some reason I wouldn't use it personally. I think I just don't live in the sort of area that is ready for it. DH liked it too, but not to use in real life Confused

Charlie is great, but I think I prefer Charles too, as the 'official' name, but known as Charlie. Doesn't bother me that much though.

Seeing as Arlo and Charlie were on our long shortlist, we also liked Henry, Hugo, Oscar, Edmund and Stan if DD had been a DS.

Thanks lovely people - kind of hoping the bump turns out to be a girl as would be so much easier but personally thinking it is a boy!

Seeksnewnamewithgsoh - its funny, we also liked Henry (until i had a fight with the hoover), Hugo (and still do) and Oscar (but his cousin is Austin and having to Oz's would send my mother off to a home early!)

I only like Charlie, but would have Charles on BC. (I like Henry too)

LittleWhiteWolf · 10/05/2011 10:22

I had the opposite problem to you OP. We had a boys name which had been sorted years before we got pregnant, but girls names? The list changed every other week! Just like you I expected that meant DD was a girl and she was! In the end we had two names on our short list and I got to pick--after all I'd done the hard work, DH said!

Of your list I like Wilf, but only if the full name is Wilfred. Then you could call him Wilf, Fred, Freddie. Love it!

Arlo and Jago are not my cup of tea, and Charlie is cute but not one I'd choose.

ElsieR · 10/05/2011 10:44

Arlo: love it.
Charlie; so so
Jago: for some reason reminds me of a juice brand
Wilf: defo no reminds me of "milf" Blush

ChippingIn · 10/05/2011 10:48

Arlo - haven't heard of it before, but don't like it.

Charlie - Like it :)

Jago - Nope

Wilf - OK

ShowOfHands · 10/05/2011 10:55

I LOVE Wilf. Brilliant name. Jago I like too.

Charlie is just so meh and run of the mill in comparison. Arlo is a good name but I know of a couple and I think Natasha Kerplunky has one which might have spawned the ones I know of.

I like Ivo too which is similar to Arlo but a bit nicer imo.

CandiceMariePratt · 10/05/2011 11:14

Jago or Wilf

lovenest · 10/05/2011 12:42

Love Charlie / Charles

seeksnewnamewithgsoh · 10/05/2011 22:55

It's something about that sort of name isn't it? Grin

Oooh, Ivo. I like that!

qwerty123 · 10/05/2011 23:27

Another vote for Arlo.

missmelo · 11/05/2011 00:39

I like Charlie, good luck :)

TheVisitor · 11/05/2011 00:46

Arlo, after the musician Arlo Guthrie.
