What do you all think about this name for a girl? Unsure of middle name yet

Are you connected to the poster who asked about "Chord" the other day?

Quite like Cadence actually!

amberleaf · 07/05/2011 22:58

Bit of a mouthful

loopylucy789 · 07/05/2011 23:00

No, not connected to the poster who asked about 'Chord'! :o
I seem to quite like this name at the moment but change my mind frequently, just wondered what everyone elses opinion on it was

Nope. Too much like Caden/Kaden.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 07/05/2011 23:02

Don't like. I speak as somebody who (16 years ago) seriously considered Melody for dd1. Dp laughed it out of the house and I have to say that he was right. Don't do it!

cece · 07/05/2011 23:02

De Cadence has a nice ring to it Wink

MelinaM · 08/05/2011 01:44

Hideous.

aStarInStrangeways · 08/05/2011 09:44

I know a little Cadence and she's lovely, the name really suits her. So I like it.

fallingandlaughing · 08/05/2011 10:07

It makes me think of gradients of hills, doesn't sound terribly like a name.

MrClaypole · 08/05/2011 10:11

Ugh, please don't!

Cadence is something that cycling-mad DP measures when he's out bike racing.

Tis the number of revolutions of the crankset per minute.

Awful.

exexpat · 08/05/2011 11:37

Wouldn't she get teased about being 'dense' at school? Apart from having to repeat her name five times and spell it twice for every new person she met...

squeak2392 · 08/05/2011 11:54

I like it, but I don't think you should use it because of the popularity of Caden/Kaiden.
Love nn Cady though.

Much better as a middle name.

frakyouveryverymuch · 08/05/2011 12:00

I liked Cadenza along with Melody. I still like them but DH had to practically pick himself up off the floor he laughed so much, which unfortunately would be a fairly representative reaction I think.

sleepingsowell · 08/05/2011 12:06

It's horrible and chavvy.

Iwantscallops · 08/05/2011 13:34

I do spinning (a cycling gym class) and the instructor is constantly yelling "Come on guys, check your cadence", so it would certainly be a no-no for me.

TBH, even if I didn't know about the cycling, I wouldn't be keen. Sorry.

loopylucy789 · 08/05/2011 13:55

Hmmmm, ok, back to the drawing board :o
