I am over 38 weeks and in dire need of inspiration for boy's names. I have trawled sites and read through a book over the months and still nothing really grabs me. I have actually got to the point where it's distressing me, I can see this poor wee man arriving and having no name for days.

I am Scottish and DH is Irish. DD is called Aoife and when I was pregnant with her we had 5 strong contenders for girl's names and the same trouble with boy's. This time we have only 2 possibilities. I like Caleb, which DH thinks is just ok. He likes Cillian, which I think is just ok - although I'm not sure about going down the traditional Irish route again since we did that with DD. DD hates both those choices and has declared they are horrible! Mind you, her preference is Emily for him!

Also, with DD although we had 5 choices Aoife was not first choice - she really looked like an Aoife though. I'm worried that even if we do have one strong option that the baby won't suit it and we'll be back to square one. Anyone got any ideas?

Hard to know what to suggest - if you've already trawled lots of sites you've probably seen most names before! But just a few random ideas...

Aaron
Nathaniel
Noah
Jacob
Ethan
Aidan
Oliver
Benjamin
James
Eli
Samuel
Alexander
Logan
Lorcan
Dylan
Lewis
Joshua

I love Cillian so not much help I'm afraid :)

Love both Cillian and Caleb, so I'm not much use either. Wouldn't go for Emily though...

Thanks everyone, Mercury there are a few names on your list that one of us liked that have been vetoed by the other. I really like Aidan but it has become very popular up here which puts me off a bit and DH doesn't agree anyway.

I guess Caleb or Cillian it will be! I just hope we are sure about the choice when he arrives. You don't think two Irish names would be overkill then?

Is Cillian pronounced Kill-ee-an or Silly-an?
