We are expecting number 2 and are struggling for girls names. Our DD1 is called Louisa. The names we have at the moment are?

Susannah - Current favourite
Lauren
Nicole
Faye

What do you think?

I love Susannah. The others are okay.

MelinaM · 04/05/2011 10:41

Faye is lovelySmile I do like Susannah, but absolutely abhor the nn's Suzi, Suze, Sue etc...

Lauren and Nicole are a tad 80's/90's.

Bucharest · 04/05/2011 10:43

Susannah, definitely.

Faye is nice enough, Lauren and Nicole are a bit awful.

valiumbandwitch · 04/05/2011 12:22

That is a beautiful combo!

Faye is a middle name. Susannah Faye - that would work. Nicole is not my cup of tea and lauren has been used too much in recent years I think.

MercurySoccer · 04/05/2011 12:46
  1. Nicole - pretty and underused
  2. Lauren - nice, although I prefer Laura
  3. Susannah - quite nice
  4. Faye - too wishy-washy
flopsy1974 · 04/05/2011 12:55

Susannh - much nicer than the other names.

NadiaWadia · 04/05/2011 13:19

The others are all nice enough but Susannah is the best by miles! It goes better with Louisa too.

Mylittlebubble · 04/05/2011 13:35

Thanks Ladies.

The more I think about, added to your comments, the more I fall in love with Susannah.

I have an auntie called Susan do you think that would make it a no-no!!

Go with Susannah. The others are very meh. Susannah lovely.

Your Aunt will be flattered!

Mylittlebubble · 04/05/2011 14:30

Ok next question with or without the 'H'

Susanna
Susannah

Debating with DH!!

I prefer with an h at the end. Really nice name.

Youremindmeofthebabe · 04/05/2011 15:22

Susannah, definitely. With the h.

campion · 04/05/2011 15:31

Susannah is lovely.

And you don't have to shorten it and don't let anyone else do so if you don't want it shortened. I know a grown up Susannah who is only ever known by her full name - it'd be a different person otherwise.

cumbria81 · 04/05/2011 15:44

I like Faye but really don't like Susannah - sorry!

yama · 04/05/2011 17:38

Definitely with an 'h'.

leeloo1 · 04/05/2011 18:10

The doll I got for Christmas when I was 7 was called Susannah. When we went back to school we had to write about our favourite present the teacher Susannah and put Susan! Grrrr! I was very cross at the time, thinking 'but she's not called Susan' but I was too shy to say anything.

So cleary its a fabulous (albeit misunderstood) name. :)

letsblowthistacostand · 04/05/2011 18:44

Louisa and Susannah are just lovely together. Louisa goes well with 'anna' names IMO, my two are Louisa and Hannah!

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 04/05/2011 20:52

I think you can shorten Susannah to Suki, if you prefer that to the other shortenings.

My name's Louisa, but I don't have any siblings, though I know my Mum really liked the names Susannah and Amelia.

Susannah is in a different league to your other choices. And Suzy/Suzie is great when she's older (even though you can't dictate that), love it.

speakercorner · 05/05/2011 08:13

Susannah - with h - was top of my list but dh wasn't keen. Gorgeous.

randomimposter · 05/05/2011 08:25

Susannah (prefer with h) is really lovely and my fave of your names.

Nicole also goes well with Louisa.

Not wild about the others.
