We have an Archie and a Tom, see Finn/Ned thread below...

What do you think of Jake?
Are there loads of them where you live??

Thanks xx

Jake is a good, solid name, would fit in well with your other 2.

I don't know any except for a 10 year old Jacob often known as jake.

Acanthus · 03/05/2011 14:23

Not loads of Jakes, no. Loads of Toms though! Would he have Jacob as his full name?

emmanumber3 · 03/05/2011 14:27

I like Jake. I've got a Tom aswell and would have considered Jake if DC3 had been another boy, although probably would have been a bad idea for me as DS1 is Jack, a bit too close.

I only know one Jake at the boys' school so not too common here either Smile.

Boys' names I can pick - DC3 is a girl (assuming scans are correct) & am as stuck as hell!! Smile

BTW - I also like Finn but DH wouldn't even consider it. No logical explanation, just a big fat "NO!"

juneau · 03/05/2011 14:36

Jake is quite popular around here - but if you don't know any then why not?

NadiaWadia · 03/05/2011 14:54

Jake is a really cool name for a boy! Would put Jacob on the birth certificate, though.

bananamom · 03/05/2011 14:58

Sorry, Jake is a naughty boys' name to me. Much prefer Finn.

WiiUnfit · 03/05/2011 18:38

I know a few Jakes / Jacobs - always cheeky but not always naughty, just cute cheeky IYSWIM?

Jacob would have been a top contender on my list but it's the name of my friend's son! :(

RalphGnu · 03/05/2011 18:44

Jake is a lovely name! But I am biased. Hope he doesn't turn out to be a naughty boy Grin

MercurySoccer · 03/05/2011 21:11

I like it. Would use Jacob as full name.

emmanumber3 · 04/05/2011 11:18

I would never have thought of Jake as being short for Jacob. To me they are 2 totally seperate names, interesting to see so many of you think otherwise Smile.

jellybeans · 04/05/2011 13:17

I like the name Jake. It is short and strong. I don't know any primary age but do know several secondary age.

bullet234 · 04/05/2011 13:21

Ds2 is called Jacob and we use Jake or Jakey loads of times as a derivative.
