DC3 (a girl) is due in two weeks. We haven't even got a short list of names. Just been browsing the web, DH and I both think Sienna is quite nice.

What are your opinions?

I love it, but wouldn't use it because all anyone will associate it with is Sienna Miller.

clare565 · 28/04/2011 19:49

I think it's lovely. People will always associate a name with famous people but once they see her and you introduce her as Sienna they will associate it with her.
I am due in 2 weeks too and love the name Heidi but stick on a middle name that 'goes'! Any ideas??

smother · 28/04/2011 19:51

burnt

Jaspants · 28/04/2011 19:57

Pretty, but very popular round here atm

helendigestives · 28/04/2011 20:22

Pretty, but would associate it with Sienna Miller.

No, it's affected and derivative. Will also date badly.

BigSooz · 28/04/2011 20:33

No

brizzagirl · 28/04/2011 21:26

I like it but agree on the Sienna Miller association, depends how bothered you are about that.

missp2010 · 28/04/2011 21:44

I don't know of any Sienna's here. I didn't realise it was a chav's name Shock

The sienna miller thing doesn't really bother me.

At this rate the poor child wont have a name for weeks! Keep the opinions coming.

NO!makes me think of vapid sienna once a tree school of acting miller
she is ghastly

squeak2392 · 29/04/2011 14:29

I think Sienna's really pretty, but it has become quite popular in chavvier areas.

mouffloncake · 30/04/2011 07:15

I really like the name.
Also love Italy & Sienna is a beautiful place.

MayBankHoliday · 30/04/2011 11:50

Not keen on Sienna as it's a place name.

How about Serena, Sara, Sophia, Cassia, Marianna?

usualsuspect · 30/04/2011 12:05

I like it ,but then I live in a chavvy area

SavannahRose · 30/04/2011 16:50

missp2010 we are going for Savannah which is Siennas sister :) we liked Sienna but Savannah more x

Ooopsadaisy · 30/04/2011 16:52

I like it, but I think it is considered a bit chavvy

harpsichordcarrier · 30/04/2011 16:53

Lovely, imo.

MelinaM · 30/04/2011 17:11

I know of one Sienna, incidentally she is named after Sienna Miller, and her twin Sofia after Sofia Loren! Not good!

I agree that it is a name that will date, and has been very common for a fair few years now.

If you really love the name how about spelling it Siena, it is the original spelling after all, and could stem the Miller link somewhatSmile

SilkStalkings · 30/04/2011 19:37

Think the city is spelled Siena, Sienna is the paint colour.
Like the sound but as someone else said, it's a bit chavvy (like something an Eastenders teen character might name their baby.)

Similar sounds:
Serena
Lowenna
Rowena
Chiara (Kee-ara)
Mariella
Kerenza
Carina/Corinna

MamaLazarou · 02/05/2011 12:28

Really pretty. I like it a lot.

scottishmummy · 02/05/2011 19:55

its not the name per se its the association.and that association for me is unpleasant

sancerrre · 02/05/2011 20:02

Like it too. And Savannah.
