what generally mean comments.
My niece is known as DeeDee or Dee (rn Danielle). She's in her early 20s.
not sure about a revival as I've never thought it was that popular.
also not quite sure of the need for the dismissive comments either. I'd far rather it than the bland Kate and Katie et al

Exactly, it's a nickname, not a proper name. That's what most people have said.
