Pronounced "Nev"
Just had a friend (from USA) tell me she loved the name as its "so English." Grin I just had a little inward chuckle thinking of the mumsnet reaction to that comment. At first I thought it was supposed to be Niamh until she spelled it out...

If it is pronounced Nev, surely the extra e on the end is redundant.

Agree with Kreecher. "Neve" is not pronounced "Nev". Nev is pronounced Nev, like short for Neville.

I think the actress Neve Campbell pronounces her name that way "Nev".

Never heard of 'Nev' when spelt Neve.
I always thought people put Neve when they couldn't spell Niamh Wink

It's how my husband wanted to spell Niamh, I disagreed, I wanted the, to my mind "proper" spelling, she's now called Molly Wink

:) I knew this is what people thought. That is why I thought it was funny she called it "so English."
