It is early days yet so we don't have a shortlist, but I would just like to get a few ideas for names for DC2. DD1 is Sophia. What do you think would go well with this? Girls' and boys' names please :)

Thanks

I love Lucy. For boys what about Harry or Dominic?

bababeagle · 24/04/2011 19:58

Lol can't have Dominic, as that was my FIL's joke name for my bump when I was pregnant with DD1 - he never did explain this!

Harry is out too, as he is my mum's springer spaniel.

Rufus...Hmm

Alice is nice and simple. Quite like it. HA - DH has just voiced his opinion "Living next door to Alice. Alice, Alice, who the f* is Alice?"

This name thing isn't easy - i am sure this is why human gestation is 9 months!

Reuben is ooook. I sound so fussy. I don't mean to be so negative!

Any thoughts on my shortlist? Oh - I like Julia but think 2 "ias" is maybe a bit rhymie?

Not Catherine or Charlie like the others

bababeagle · 24/04/2011 20:41

thanks. you don't think madeleine and meredith are too much with our kinda-soundie-likie surname?

OrangeBernard · 24/04/2011 20:43

They both have short nicknames you can use.

I like Madeleine 'Hutchinson' -- has a nice ring to it (hypothetically anyway). I also like Elsa very much.

bababeagle · 24/04/2011 21:11

Glad you think so. I really like madeleine but wouldn't want it to be a mouthful. I like the nn maddie too.

happy - how do you pronounce eilidh? i like thomas, nn tom

lonnie - i like phoebe, dh not keen

OP posts:
Happygomummy · 24/04/2011 21:57

Baba - Eilidh rhymes with Hayley. It's a Scottish Gaelic name so the 'dh' is silent.

bababeagle · 25/04/2011 16:14

Thanks happy

So our shortlist is now as follows:

Madeleine
Elsa
Catherine (nn Cate/Kate)
Isobel

Thomas (nn Tom)
Charlie
Isaac - DH says no but 2 options just doesn't seem enough! Confused

and James is a definite middle name if a boy.
