Here's the shortlist of baby names I'm considering that I generated with Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder. Let me know what you think.

Girls
Agatha
Penelope

Penelope - Agatha is a big name to make your own, and Penelope has more abbreviations.

Prefer Agatha, but dislike Aggie as a NN.
Penelope just makes me think of Pitstop and posh pony club 1070s children.

Penelope is very pretty, and Penny is a nice nickname :)

Agatha sounds a bit harsh IMHO.

meditrina · 17/04/2011 08:55

I think they're both lovely.

Penelope makes me think of Thunderbirds, so cool, capable, stylish.

Agatha is a razor witted older lady (lady, not woman); respectable but with a hint of a past.

Penelope hands down!

theagedparent · 17/04/2011 09:07

Agatha is gorgeous, I have an Agatha.

Hassled · 17/04/2011 09:10

They're both lovely, but I prefer Agatha.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 17/04/2011 09:14

Same as Hassled Smile

Penny or Aggie is what you have to ask as that is what they will be shortened to!

Penny is prettier imvho.

Please please please go for Agatha! The world needs more Agathas! I love it but DP won't consider it :(

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/04/2011 12:27

Either - both are nice. DD2 was nearly Agatha, until someone pointed out the "Bewitched" vibe that would appear to be going on in our family if we did!

Boobz · 17/04/2011 13:27

Choose Agatha (I have a Penelope and I don't want it to become the next Isabella / Grace / etc)

LetThereBeRock · 17/04/2011 16:13

Definitely not Agatha. It's an incredibly ugly name.

Penelope is beautiful.and Penny is a lovely nickname.

Anything but Agatha!
