Xanthe and.......

Expecting twins in October. Don't know the sex yet but DH and I have agreed on Xanthe if one is a girl. We're finding it really difficult to come up with another name. Can anyone suggest names to complement Xanthe for either sex?

Thanks

Zilla

I know two sisters with these names. Both the names have Greek roots.

I think keeping the prominent X in the name is a cute idea - not necessarily for childrenof different ages but a nice connection for twins

Xantippe?

Ach, missed the H. Xanthippe, I was trying to write.

Karenhappuch · 16/04/2011 16:57

We thought about keeping the X as a 'theme'. I like Xanthe and Beatrix but not sure if they are too different in style.

Was also wondering if we should maybe look at the meaning. DH and I are both blonde so chances are our children will be too - one of the reasons we like Xanthe. So, we thought maybe Xanthe and Linus for girl/boy twins.

I think it would be a bit much to have a second name also starting with 'X'.

Personally I like the difference in Xanthe and Beatrix. Do you really want to force the twins to be a matching set forever? Far better to ignore themes and give them a little piece of their own identities.

choux · 16/04/2011 18:15

Xanthe and Zeta
Xanthe and Celia
Allegra and Xanthe
Theo and Xanthe

OOH Am loving Xanthe and Beatrix!

SolarPanel · 16/04/2011 19:18

I think two names with an x would be too much, and would dilute the distinctiveness of Xanthe. Beatrice instead of Beatrix would be nicer and go better IMO.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

I like Rex but our sn is only 1 syllable so it might sound too blunt.

Liking Xanthe and Zinnia too. Nothing jumping out at me for boys unfortunately. Lets hope it's 2 girls.
