Seren Niamh flows better but I love Róisín and DD wants to call her sister Rosie...

Seren Róisín

Maternelle · 15/04/2011 21:40

Seren is Seh-rren. And Niamh is indeed Neev and Roisin Rosheen.

Thank you. DH is Irish and I have Welsh connections. The first name needs to be easily pronounced in French. Ideally I would have had Niamh as a first name, but am also happy with Seren Róisín.

I like Roisin Grin

Maternelle · 16/04/2011 09:58

Seren is Welsh Maryz. Welsh for star. There is also a Breton name Sterenn. Also means star.

Is she actually going to be called Rosie? If so, I would be tempted to make Roisin the first name, and Seren the middle.

If you take the Rosie away, then I love Seren Niamh.

Maternelle · 16/04/2011 16:43

No, she is going to be called Seren. But we do like Róisín so it was a nice way to acknowledge DD1.

The only Seren I know of is male - is it one of those either sex names? Is it short for Serendipity? I love Roisin...

KenDoddsDadsDog · 17/04/2011 06:42

Seren Róisín for me. Lovely name.

AlpinePony · 17/04/2011 09:07

If you want to call her Rosie then the first name should be Rosie, or Roisin at the very least! Confused Unless of course you're the type of celt who uses the middle name in every day situations and the first name only for banks/council/etc.
